You might think I’m crazy for volunteering for this trip, but I’m chaperoning a group of 62 eighth-graders in Washington DC this week. I know, I know, I must be nuts, right? But with my love for travel and my love for eighth graders, I figured it might be fun. The most interesting part is that Husband is also chaperoning — they needed more male chaperones and I volunteered him. He’s excited, but I’m not sure if he knows what he’s getting in to. Mwahahaha! He’s about to get a first-hand peek into what I do on a daily basis, and it might be a tad overwhelming. We shall see!
We have an action-packed itinerary: the Newseum, Ford’s Theater, the Holocaust Museum, Mount Vernon, a Kennedy Center performance, a Washington Nationals game, a UVA tour, lots and lots of monuments, and other stuff I don’t even remember. I will definitely be writing about my DC experience on the blog in an upcoming Washington DC series!
