We’ve had some busy weekends lately, consisting mainly of fixing stuff around the house and doing yard-work. Not the most fun ways to spend a weekend! But with Husband at a golf tournament this morning, it was the perfect day to try an outing with my friend Ingrid and her daughter and step-son. We did something we’ve been wanting to try for awhile: biking around Sanibel Island.
Sanibel is only about 30 minutes from our house, so it’s kind of incredible that we don’t go there all the time. It’s the perfect little cozy beach town, where families vacation yearly for generations and there are hardly any “name brand” stores. It’s all locally-owned, laid back restaurants and gift shops and art galleries, and well-known for the best “shelling” in the world. It’s also well-known for being very bike friendly. Wide, shady bike paths run the length of the island, and there are several bike rental places available.
