The unpacking continues, but we’re getting closer and closer to it looking like a home! Since our new washer and dryer got delivered this morning, I spent today getting the laundry room set up. The laundry room is also our pantry since we don’t have one, so I brought in a metal shelf and some baskets for snacks, canned foods, and sunscreen.
We also installed some more shelves above the washer and dryer. I wanted to keep it from looking too cluttered, so I picked up a few different kinds of gray and white baskets.
My favorite home decor trick lately though, is “decanting.” Basically, you take a product out of its packaging and put it in a nice container to display. I couldn’t resist this bulldog cookie jar, which now contains our laundry detergent booster. Two gray canisters hold laundry pods and scent booster.
To finish it off, I added some decorative details I already had around the house — when you live in Florida, it’s hard to pass up cute nautical stuff! One of my favorites is my manatee calendar (I order one every year) and my anchor key hook. I already had some nautical-themed labels from before, which I printed and laminated, but I need to make a few more to add.
I think the room turned out pretty cute, and hopefully it will inspire me to do some laundry now! Stay tuned for more rooms as we get unpacked and set up!
