Our first experience with Disney’s Epcot Food and Wine Festival was last year around this time, so I’ve been waiting an entire year to go back! This was the event I was most looking forward to when we became Annual Passholders at Disney, and it did not disappoint! This time we went about two weeks earlier in October, and it was still so so so hot. That means that we need to go back in November, obviously.
Most of the World Showcase food stops had different foods than last year it seemed, and the “Showcase Plaza” food stops were even more varied. Here are a few of our favorites:
Grilled Beef Skewer with Romaine, Apricots, and Feta Cheese from The Chew Collective (Future World West):
Artist Palette of Wine and Cheese at Wine and Dine Studio (Future World West):
Grilled Lamb Chop with Mint Pesto and Potato Crunchies at the Australia stop (Showcase Plaza) — this was my favorite of the day:
Escondidinho de Carne (Layered Meat Pie with Mashed Yucca) from the Brazil stop (between Morocco and France):
We were super excited to try the new Chocolate Studio (Future World West), and we got the Liquid Nitro Chocolate-Almond Truffle with Warm Whiskey-Caramel and the Red Wine Chocolate Truffle. I have to say though, they were both just okay. Maybe because they began to melt immediately in the sun? Or maybe I had built up the Chocolate Studio in my mind so much? Either way, I was little underwhelmed on this one.
A few that I want to try when we go back are the Chicken Gyro at the Greece stop, the Kalua Pork Slider at the Hawaii stop, and the Lobster Roll from Hops and Barley (in “America”). Oh! And a Hard Soda Float at the Desserts and Champagne stop! I looked for it this past time but could never find it. (If you can point me in the right direction on that one, I’ll raise a glass to you next time we go!)
How about y’all? Have you been yet this year? What are some of the food stops we should hit next time?
