Last weekend at this time, I was on my annual College Girls Reunion Weekend. Basically, every year my four Miami girlfriends and I get together and raise hell in some new location. This year we headed to my friend Molly’s home in Chicago, and even though we were short one (Sarah! We missed you!), we had a blast.
It was so nice to be in a city for awhile, too. The shopping, the food choices, the noises at night … loved it all. I’ve missed that. WE did lots of touristy stuff too, taking the obligatory bean photo and walking along the lakefront “beach”. (Yes, I’m using quotation marks. I’m not counting it as an actual beach, sorry.) We had this amazing dinner at a fancy Italian place whose name escapes me. SO so so good. And also the wine. That was pretty darn good too.
But the most good? Seeing my girls. Even though we only see each other once a year, it always seems so comfortable and warm in their midst. They know me better than most, and vice versa. We have a very rich and storied history.
So next year? Where to? Miss them (and Chicago) already!
